On October 30, Chinese Ambassador to Syria Shi Hongwei paid courtesy call on the new Syrian Minister of Information Ziad Ghosn and exchanged views on bilateral relations, especially strengthening cooperation in the field of media between the two countries.

Shi Hongwei said that China and Syria share traditional friendship. In recent years, under the strategic guidance and personal care of President Xi Jinping and President Bashar Al-Assad, bilateral cooperation in all fields has entered the fast lane of development. China is willing to work with Syria to tell the story of China-Syria friendship and China-Syria community of shared future, to promote mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples, and jointly implement the Global Development Initiative and Global Civilization Initiative.

Ziad said that Syria-China relations have been renewed over time, and the historic meeting between the two heads of state is an important milestone in the history of bilateral relation development. The Syrian government and its people highly appreciate China's achievements in economic and social development. Syria supports strengthening media exchanges and cooperation between between the two countries, especially in fully reporting China's successful experience, strengthening the strong friendship between Syria and China, and promoting the continuous development of the strategic partnership between the two countries.
