On July 22, 2026, Chinese Ambassador to Syria Shi Hongwei met with Yasser Al-Jundi, Director of the Diplomatic Institute at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Syria, and exchanged views on strengthening cooperation in diplomatic training and academic exchanges between the two countries.

Shi Hongwei stated that the Syrian Diplomatic Institute has played an important role in cultivating diplomatic talent for Syria.
